EPO announces Dr Tracey King CSci, MRSB as new Scientific Coordinator

Dr Tracey King CSci, MRSB has been appointed as European Pet Organization (EPO) Scientific Coordinator.

The appointment, which took effect from 1st August 2024, will see Tracey working with the EPO President, Svein A. Fosså, and EPO Secretary-General, Nathalie Gamain, supporting EPO members by leading the drafting and writing of EPO responses and position statements on a wide portfolio of issues affecting the European pet industry. She will also be liaising with EPO Working Group members and subject area experts on matters of interest to EPO.

A Chartered Scientist, Dr. King has a Doctorate in Fish Parasitology gained from Cardiff University and a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Animal Behaviour from the University of Lincoln. She brings to the role her extensive experience as a scientific lead and advisor, having previously worked for the UK’s Ornamental Aquatic Trade Association and Humanimal Trust. The author of a number of scientific papers, she has written on the wild-caught ornamental fish industry from a UK perspective and given evidence to the UK’s Parliamentary Environmental Audit Committee’s Invasive Non-Native Species Inquiry.
